Review : Haier HL37S 37-Inch LCD HDTV ATSC Tuner :
We bought our tv in January 2008 and now its October 2008 with absolutely no problems at all. We even moved 1200 miles in that time and I had to pack it up and load it into a U-Haul. It made it out just fine and is working like brand new. If it’s left without any input for a period of time (like your dvd player was playing and is now off) it will turn off automatically, but I have no problem turning it right back on and have actually found that pretty convenient that it does that. I read lots of reviews from the 32 inch Haier HDTV before I bought this one because no one had reviewed this one yet. I waited to review but we’ve had it for 9 months now and it works like it was brand new.

The Samsung PN50A760 is a 50-inch plasma HDTV. Like other plasma televisions, has a wide viewing angle and an excellent refresh rate and, like other HD televisions, which offers exceptional image and sound. It has some great qualities of its own, however, that distinguish it from the rest of today’s high-definition televisions and plasma HD televisions all in general. Photos QualityFor one, the Samsung PN50A760 has a 1080p resolution screen and the Ultra Filter Bright, which displays clear, sharp images. It also has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which means that creates deep blacks and bright whites, although not as deep as some plasma televisions or bright as the white of LCD televisions. As with the other colors, the PN50A760 offers a wide range of colors, while the display extremely accurate primary colors. It also produces a fluid motion and has an anti-glare filter to reduce glare and prevents it from being distracted. SoundAs mentioned earlier, the PN50A760 lives up to the standard of superior sound quality of HDTV. Has built-in speakers and simulated surround mode, which greatly improves the depth of sound, like a dedicated speaker system. The maximum volume is high enough for most viewing environments. DesignThe PN50A760 has a simple but elegant design with hidden speakers, rounded corners and a glossy black frame, with a slick clear coating and a touch of color in the form of red highlights. These shades of red are thin enough for those who do not like the color, as it is currently not available in any other color, but are distinct enough to set the PN50A760 apart from most standard models black. And ‘one of the few high-definition televisions that come with a swivel stand that allows you to easily rotate it so you can see the screen no matter where you sit. RemoteAs for its remote, the Samsung PN50A760 is one that is easy to use, with a jog wheel instead of arrows and largest buttons are all conveniently backlit. The remote also has a button ‘Tools’ that allows quick access to all set-up features, including sound and picture modes, and is also programmable. MenuThe on-screen menu is equally user-friendly, with menu options that appear in large text and made it even more readable, with good color combinations. It ‘also simple, with such sub-menus and help text at the bottom of the screen to help you understand each menu option. ConnectivityIn terms of connectivity, the Samsung PN50A760 features four HDMI ports and many other on the back and side where you can connect headphones, speakers, game consoles, cable or satellite TV, Blu-Ray, DVD player and even the computer. There is also a USB port to connect your thumb drive so you can share your pictures and music files, although you can do it directly from your hard disk by connecting the HDTV to a home network through the Ethernet port on the back. FeaturesAside Extra to these, the PN50A760 comes with some nice extras, such as a screen full of photos, recipes, children’s activities and exercises that can be accessed through the button ‘content’ of the remote. It is also an adjustable pixel shift to prevent burn-in problem that often plagues plasma televisions. All these combine to make the Samsung PN50A760 an effective competitor in the field of plasma TVs and high definition televisions, in general, and one to consider for your home if you can afford the high price tag that comes with it.
